GRINDHOUSE WOW! Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino made an amazing work of campy cinematic art. I highly recommend a little patience with Tarantino's movie, it's a way different speed than Rodriguez's but it builds up to just as good. Features Kurt Russel, Nicolas Cage, Zoe Bell, Cheech Marin, Rose McGowan, Bruce Willis, Danny Trejo (I love this guy) Naveen Andrews, and Freddy RodrÃguez.
FAST FOOD NATION Crap, read the book, it's much better. The movie was unbearably useless and lack luster. Again, read the book.
CLASS OF 1999 How could I have missed this gem? It's a bit like a low budget Terminator with the premise of ridiculous gang members at war with each other and teaming up against their cyborg teachers. Malcom Mac Dowel plays the wussy principal, and Pam Grier is a sexy cyborg. I loved it.
LAND OF THE DEAD This movie is so good it hurts. Romero gives a new angle to the walking dead in the sense that they have some intelligence and learn how to eat people more efficiently. The living are caught up in a typical class struggle that the undead point out it does not matter how much money you have, at the end of the day we are all zombie food. Look for cameo appearances from key zombie characters in preceding movies.
