Portland fashion mavens rejoice! This weekend there are three fashion shows happening in conjunction with Convergence 13. I'm going to assume that everyone pretty much knows about Convergence at this point, but if not, it's an annual goth/industrial "convention" if you will, that happens in a different city each year. The Portland goth scene has been all a'flutter in the past few months preparing for the event and well, at the very least there will be lots of well dressed people invading Portland, drinking a lot and generally partying their asses off.

There are two fashion shows happening as part of Convergence, and unfortunately you need to have a C13 laminate to gain access to these shows. The first is on Saturday night at the Crystal Ballroom, the second is on Sunday afternoon as part of the "Mad Hatters Tea Party" way up in North Portland at a very stately old Victorian house called the David Cole Queen Anne Victorian Mansion. That event is sold out and I'm afraid that even poor little old me will not be able to attend and drool over the fashions displayed that day. Portland's very own Invizible will be showing her collection that day and I'm sad I won't get to see it.

But, the very good news is that a group of designers have pooled together for a sort of renegade fashion show happening on Friday afternoon (the 25th) at the Someday Lounge.
